Shisir Basumatari is a 27-year-old artist based in Delhi.

About ‘Paint & Shoot’

Exposed to various forms of art from an early age and formally trained in painting and pencil sketching, Shisir found the hybrid quality of Paint Photo refreshingly new.

In 2010 he finally started his works. Part inspired by the works of Washington based artists, Alexa Meade, he fuses his skill in painting, visualization, installation and photography.

The basic idea of ‘Paint & Shoot’ is to paint 3D objects, including live models and make them appear 2D. The aspect of photography becomes crucial for preservation as the installation is temporary – and lasts only till the model wears the paint.

Some of his works have been exhibited at ‘Curves & Shades’ 2010, Guwahati.

Photography

A hobby photographer, Shisir likes traveling and capturing moments on the street.
