One of the first transformations during the initial days of economic globalization in India has been the way Indians defined ‘food’. The ’still-up-and-running’ Parantha corners, which used to be the sole dine-out options, now compete with Global brands like McDonalds, KFC, CCD, Pizza Huts, to name a few. One interesting facet of this fierce competition is how old Darwin steps in once again to teach us evolution. And no; monkeys do not turn to homo sapiens this time. This time the chicken capsicum pizza turns into a paneer-cheese pizza. Italians will be petrified getting to hear this!

And as they wait, looking towards the river, waiting for the last ferry, I could hear a distant music floating on the wind and a shivering reflection of a lone lantern on the tumultuous water.

I had taken this picture with a 2mp phone camera during an unplanned trip to a village in Assam. Unfortunately I do not have the original photograph anymore. The village predominantly belongs to the Bodo community and on the upper left corner you can see a woman in her traditional clothes, called ‘Dokhna’.

An ad meant to promote a mobile service provider (Vodafone), it also ended up popularizing the pugs. I find Billboards very intersting subjects for photography. However, I would want to understand this kind of photography more in order to make better shots. Any suggestions?

Nimboo Paani or Lemon Water is Delhi’s indigenous way of tackling with the ‘inhuman summer’. Although much cheaper as compared to bottled water, these water carts are losing business due to its disregard towards hygiene.
